Working towards Well Being

Nunkuwarrin Yunti auspices the SA Centre for Indigenous Social and Emotional Well Being (SA Regional Centre), which provides education, training and support to Social & Emotional Well Being health workers across South Australia.

'Health does not just mean the physical well being of the individual but refers to the social, emotional and cultural well being of the whole community. This is a whole of life view and includes the cyclical concept of life-death-life.' (NACCHO)

Based at Nunkuwarrin Yunti, the Centre's objectives are:

·    Provide support to the Bringing Them Home, Link Up and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing workforce
·    Develop and deliver education and training in mental health and social and emotional well being
·    Ensure that mental health and social and emotional well being education and training meets criteria for accreditation in the Vocational Educational and Training sector
·    Develop and promote inter-sectoral linkages and operate as a mental health and social and emotional well being resource centre for the Aboriginal community
·    Develop and maintain mental health and social and emotional well being information systems
·    Ongoing evaluation of the Centre's activities.
