Stronger Families Safer Children PDF Print E-mail

Nunkuwarrin Yunti will be responsible to provide direct case work and case management services, and assist families to access a whole range of support services that cater for individual and family needs enabling the family to remain together in a safe and stable environment.

We work in close partnership with Families SA District Centres and services will be directed to families with circumstances that impact on their ability to safely care for their children, and will provide families with the necessary support to reduce the risk factors and build resilience.  Stronger Families Safer Children team will address parenting and family relationships, as well as known risk factors for abuse and neglect.  Evaluation of early intervention family support services has shown that working with families to stabilise and support them in the early stages of concern, as part of a professional case management approach, can overcome significant problems contributing to child abuse and neglect.  There is evidence that families who work in partnership with community agencies and statutory child protection agencies can successful address child protection concerns.

Services are to be provided by specially trained Service Providers who receive ongoing supervision and training.  The desired service model will consist of  (2) teams which will be located in the Southern and Northern regions of Adelaide, this will include a Program Manager,  Counsellors, Case Workers, and will also utilise the Multi-disciplinary Health Services that Nunkuwarrin Yunti has to offer internally.
