Nunkuwarrin Yunti recognises that, as a community managed and operated Centre, there is a responsibility to ensure that its vision, purpose and philosophy are understood, accepted and owned by all involved in the Centre.
Otherwise Nunkuwarrin Yunti is unlikely to achieve its purpose and goals. Nunkuwarrin Yunti will provide the processes for involvement and participation by its stakeholders and have regular meetings and workshops to discuss and review the operations and services of the Centre.
Our vision, philosophy and purpose are valuable resources and represent the values which govern both long term planning and daily activities and which promote common understanding and acceptance by all. Our Philosophy The Philosophy of Nunkuwarrin Yunti supports: The preservation of traditional culture.
The development of a contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community by supporting the principles of self-management and self-determination and the community’s push for re-empowerment and the desire to take responsibility for its own destiny.
Provision of services which are fair, accessible and equitable and are available at no cost.
